The T.C. Arapaima Tropical Fish Park,
The T.C. Arapaima Tropical Fish Park, or popularly known as the Saleng Zoo, is a 10ha-park. It began as an Arapaima fish farm but since then it has grown into a miniature zoo with all kinds of animals, proving to be an ideal place for children to gain knowledge about wildlife.Some 30 different species of animals can be found here such as tiger, lion, crocodile, panther, African baboons, wild boar and bears.Apart from that, the mini-zoo also has macaws, macaques, crocodiles, bears, peacocks, horses, ostriches, iguanas, pythons, king cobras, cassowaries, porcupines and turtles.
The park’s main feature was the Arapaima fish, 48 in all, making them the largest collection of such fish in Johor.Some of the Arapaimas are as long as 2.5 metres and weigh 120kg. He said the place gained fame because of its large collection of Arapaima fish.
Surrounded by coconut trees and the beautifully landscaped, the Saleng Zoo offers a cool and relaxing setting for the visitors. The park offers horse rides at RM10 per child under the supervision of the animal trainer. Scientific data and interesting facts about the animals are displayed to enrich the knowledge of visitors.
Introduction board of one the Araipama fish ponds states that the fish, which are currently six-and-a-half feet would grow up to 14 feet.
The park, located along Jalan Kulai, about 4km from Senai town, is open from 9.30am to 7pm daily. Adults are charged RM12 while children below 12 are charged half the price.

asam pedas
Trisha Cafe uses its own traditional recipe to prepare the dish, only certain fishes for the asam pedas, include red snapper, kerapu and tilapia and the most popular one is the fish head asam pedas, gravy is thick, spicy and less oily and the fish is fresh.
The cafe also offers authentic Malay, Chinese and western cuisine. Such as deep fried chicken with lemon sauce, seafood beancurd in claypot, pan-fried squid with sambal, grilled chicken chop and garlic lamb.
The cafe also has a wide range of desserts and drinks such as Sarawak Teh C and Rainbow Trisha which looks and tastes great.

Kukup Laut, Pontian
Operating a home-based business selling agar-agar in Kukup Laut, Pontian, since 1993, Tay's agar-agar is a must for visitors to the small town, which is known for its seafood.
The turtle-shaped agar-agar comes in seven colours and flavours: durian, red bean, green bean, yam, pineapple, peanut and maize.
The correct amount of sugar, coconut milk and pandan leave juice had to be used for the agar-agar to come out just right. After the agar-agar has hardened and been stuffed with the filling, and leave them in the refrigerator overnight, agar-agar of different flavours such as bubur chacha, various fruits and cendol is available. The agar-agar is sold at 50 sen a piece or RM6 for a box of 12.
The agar-agar could be kept fresh for up to a week with refrigeration. No preservatives but some colouring is used for identification of the different ingredients and flavours.
Business is good during weekends and public holidays when many visitors, including Singaporeans, come to Kukup for seafood."It is halal and is a favourite snack among all the races, the Pinfen Crystal Jelly.

Priced at RM5.50 per serving, curry chee cheong fun which comes with long beans, pork and deep-fried pork skin cooked in thick curry.
The Hokkien prawn mee simply tastes great. It is served with squid and fish cake but the secret behind this dish is the dried prawn sambal. This item is priced at RM6.50.
Soon Soon's claypot Hakka stewed pork with black fungus is not an oily dish. Its thick black gravy is a combination of dried oysters, salted fish and spices cooked over a slow fire for a long period. The dish costs RM7.
Another hot item is the stewed claypot chicken in sesame oil and ginger priced at RM6.50.Although this is a common dish in restaurants selling economy meals, the one sold at Soon Soon has the fragrance of sesame oil and ginger.
For soupy items, the mee hoon kuey is highly recommended.Tagged at RM6.50 per serving, the dish has generous amounts of greens, anchovies, pork and meat ball.The stock used in this dish is made from anchovies and boiled rib bones.
Yam cake is a common dim sum item but the one served at Soon Soon will change the perception of those who enjoy the snack.Cubes of yam, minced dried prawns, mushroom and pork are steamed and cut into huge chunks before it is garnished with spring onions, deep-fried onions and dried prawns. It is priced at RM3 a piece.
Among the dessert soups available are red bean and black glutinous rice porridge served with coconut milk, gingko biloba and barley boiled with dried beancurd, and oat porridge. Each bowl is tagged at RM2.
For the health conscious, they may opt for fruit and vegetable juices. Among the choices of fruits and vegetables are bitter gourd, celery, lemon, red carrot, cucumber, orange and apple.
There are 53 traditional dishes available at the kopitiam.
Traditional home-cooked items which are rarely served in restaurants.
